The general concept of the card game is to be dealt cards adding up to twenty one. Each competitor is handed two cards. When a blackjack player is given a 9 or less and an Ace they have been dealt a soft hand. When the blackjack player receives no Ace cards it is called as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been dealt every player at the table, including the dealer, every blackjack player is provided the opportunity to make 1 of 6 choices:
Taking another card (Hit): When a player says "hit" the dealer will give him another card, if the adding of that card causes the total greater than twenty-one the player will have busted and that’s the end of the game, if the card pushes the value of the hand to 21 the gambler will be the winner and if the total hasn’t yet reached twenty one they are still in the game.
Keeping the hand you have been dealt: If a black jack player is happy with the cards they will stay. Once this has happened the croupier will reveal his/her cards and the gambler who has gotten 21 or the nearest to 21 will come away with a win.
Doubling Down: A blackjack player may request to double down which doubles the wager they have laid. As soon as you have taken this procedure you can only receive one more card. The details of doubling down are usually specified by the table or betting house rules so before gambling make sure you are familiar with the casino game rules. If you’re playing at a web casino this is normally very easy.
